PatchPE

PatchPE is a utility that modifies the headers of PE executables to ensure compatibility with legacy Windows operating systems like XP, 2000, and even NT. Modern linkers often set the minimum required OS to the latest versions, unnecessarily restricting software. This tool rewrites these headers, allowing newer applications to run on older systems. Additionally, it enables the Large Address Aware (LAA) flag, permitting 32-bit executables to access more than 2 GB of physical memory, which can significantly improve performance for memory-intensive applications.
